The hub is emerging from the community connected to Scarborough Museums and Galleries through its Space to Be project: a democratic space housed in Scarborough Art Gallery that supports groups and individuals in the community to engage with issues that are important to them.

There has been a growing debate about the future of our environment as we are so close to the sea, but also the interconnected nature of the earth crisis. We are working with our community to steer them to become advocates for and then convenors of the hub, through regular discussions and creative activities, which usually take place at our Tuesday drop-ins. The sea is currently the main focus of interest which has been decided by the group.
