Jaime Jackson

Visual artist, working on social justice and climate ecology crisis art programmes.

Jaime Jackson is a collaborative artist, working on interdisciplinary science and community collaborative projects, leading to art-work commissions, community engagement and exhibitions. He uses art-making to explore and uncover our inherent and intuitive relationship with nature.

Jaime is working on an artist-led biophilic (love of nature/life) art environmental responsibility programme, which will bring communities from the global south in Birmingham together with climate/ecology experts, and artists from England and indigenous communities across the globe to explore decolonised approaches to the climate and ecological crisis, and reflect and unpick the cognitive bias of colonial conditioning in the global north. The work will highlight the issues of colonialism in the crisis, by focusing on relational art practices of indigenous cultures and communities in Birmingham from the global south.
