I am a choreographer who is passionate about our oceans. I blend the skills of scuba diving and the artistry of dance to address any issues experienced within the underwater environment.
Declaration
As a man of Carabbean origin, I want to utilise my skills to help bring an awareness of issues effecting our oceans as a result of human intervention.
As an avid scuba diver I was concerned about the negative issues on pollution within our oceans. I had experienced first hand how discarded nets can have devestating effects on aquatic life. As a result, I wanted to blend my choreographic skills with scuba diving to enable a new cultural outlet to be formed. With the support of Arts Council England choreographic research was made possible. This therefore presented the opportunity to capture my work digitally to communicate issues within our seas using this innovative movement approach.
