Threads in the Ground

We are a new climate hope organisation - unearthing powerful climate stories to help more people be good ancestors. Our goal is to engage 8 million people in climate action by 2030. We do this through arts, culture and education focused activity with schools and communities in the North East.
Declaration
We are the most powerful generation of humans that will ever exist. The first to understand the damage we have done to our climate, the last to be able to do something about it.
We need a total transformation of ideas and society to limit catastrophic warming. But climate change is complex, it is difficult, it is terrifying – none of which is helpful for positive action.
The unique role our sector can play is the exploration and telling of powerful climate stories. To make work that connects more people to the complexities and the possibilities we are living with.
Threads in the Ground is building a programme to connect 8 million more people to climate hope by 2030. This includes the world's first fungal sculpture trail, an immersive theatre piece exploring our carbon heritage, and a community-led exploration of sustainable food policy.
