Declaration

The Passmore Edwards bicentenary festival will see events in Cornwall and across the south of the country during the Spring and Summer of 2023 to mark the 200th anniversary of the birth of Passmore Edwards. Edwards was a great political and social reformer and philanthropist, funding 70 public buildings, including libraries, hospitals, convalescent homes, art galleries, schools and museums, many of which continue to serve the community to which they were given. Were he alive today I am sure that he would be campaigning on the issue of the climate crisis and we will encourage those who participate in the festival to adopt the principles promoted by of CDE
