Declaration
Here’s an indisputable fact:
Fossil fuel companies have known for decades about the planet warming and other environmental harms caused by their oil, gas and coal. Nevertheless they denied it, lied about it, and colluded to spin alternative baseless “facts”, all the while expanding their business and profit margins. Like Big Tobacco, but worse.
Here's an uncomfortable fact:
Not everybody contributed equally to the climate crisis; we haven’t all benefited equally from burning fossil fuels, and we’re not all suffering the impacts of drought, extreme heat, floods, melting glaciers, and sea level rise in the same way.
Here's a horrible fact:
Under the UK's political leadership, I was stopped and searched four times in four hours for wearing a t-shirt.
Here's my conclusion:
It's time to stand up and be counted and I congratulate all those who made it there before me.
