Gate 27
Declaration
Gate 27 is a residency program founded in İstanbul, TR. We aim to raise awareness and facilitate dialogue around ecology, sustainability and local creative networks. We bring together artists, researchers and cultural actors from different disciplines and offer them a common ground where they can focus on their practice and be inspired by one another.
We want to join the Culture Declares Emergency movement because we believe that the current socio-ecological crisis we are in must be addressed immediately and globally. We were really excited to find CDE as a force that brings people together and holds the cultural sectors accountable to do their part in taking action against the Earth crisis. As a young initiative, as we learn how to make our institution truly sustainable, we believe that the CDE would provide a great support mechanism for us, and help us be louder as we scream into what sometimes seems as a void.
