Reimagining The City 4: Beyond borders: sounding space and place

Reimagining the City Four invites us into a space of active listening through three podcast, radio and writing projects. How do new forms of broadcasting help to transform participation in future communities?

Our presenters are each committed to the transformative power of broadcasting stories and conversations. Lucia Scazzocchio (she, her) has developed what she calls ‘Social Broadcasting’, combining community engagement, co-creation, audio production and broadcasting techniques to create unique insight into specific communities and environments using the power of radio.

Pip Gardner (they, their, ze, air) is Chief Executive at The Kite Trust – an LGBTQ+ youth charity covering Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and surrounds. Having set out to facilitate conversations between LGBTQ+ role models and the young people who use The Kite Trust services to support them through the lockdown period, this has grown and flourished as the ‘I’m Socially Distancing With…’ podcast that now reaches young people across the country.

Chloe Aridjis (she, her) is a writer and activist, and a member of Writers Rebel with a particular interest in species extinction and animal welfare. On November 30 Writers Rebel is hosting On the Brink bringing together twenty writers from around the world, each to tell the story of one animal.
All our speakers are interested in telling stories not yet heard, and in listening to conversations that bring in voices often not included in mainstream media.
