Your invitation to join a virtual space for The CDE Community
Cultural Learning in an Earth Crisis: emergency shifts for young and future people
Wednesday 15 April 2020, 11-12.30pm
How can Culture respond effectively to the Planetary Emergency to ensure agency, wellbeing and justice for today’s young people and for future generations?
Agency – how can young people be empowered to imagine and create systemic change?
Wellbeing – how can Cultural Learning change the system to nurture wellbeing more than wealth?
Justice – how can this practice be as ethical and inclusive as possible?
A range of practitioners will describe how their work contributes to this emergency response, invited by Deborah Curtis (House of Fairy Tales) Bridget McKenzie (Climate Museum UK). All those joining will then be invited to share ideas to co-create a resource of inspirational examples and potential projects.
The Evening Offer: Red Line Art Works presentation
Wednesday 15 April 2020, 19.30-21.00
CDE Member Chris Greenwood presents Red Line Art Works – a global arts project which engages artists across art forms whose work focuses on climate & ecological emergency, inequality, poverty, patriarchy, leadership, etc. www.redlineartworks.org
Chris will present an overview of the project and show some of the over 800 art works currently on the website from around 45 countries. CDE Members are invited to submit work for exhibition on the site free of charge.
Participant will be invited to explore the connections between the current pandemic, climate and ecological breakdown and climate justice issues.
