Declaration
Art is as essential to society as a free press. The latter informs us about power, the former allows us to feel our way to an understanding of power and its effects. Both are needed, but alongside them is activism, this friend, this ally, this moment of release, when we collectively and joyfully demand our truths be heard, and that the powers that be act on our demands.
