Jordnær Film is a consulting creative production house. We produce video content in a sustainable manner and provide eco support and responsible resource guidance.
The audiovisual industry and the public in Denmark has ignored the environmental impact of film and television production for too long. Moving images are not just enchanting stories with a symbolic value that entertain us through small or big screens. In their process of production, films and tv-series, have a carbon footprint and their production involves a complex supply chain, crossing various sectors, which can be both polluting, poisonous and waste generating.
How can we begin to understand the connection between the visually presented on our screens and the unseen consequences off screen? We are creating "A Call to Environmentally Friendly Action in the Danish Film- and Television industry" and we are working on sending out a declaration to the cultural sector in Denmark simultaniously with a Finish initiative. We believe that the time has come to put the climate consequences of cinema on the Danish agenda and for the cultural sector to declare a state of climate and ecological emergency .
