Jessica Bennett
Declaration
Jessica Bennett is an independent curator based between Newcastle upon Tyne and Liverpool. Since obtaining her MA in Creative and Cultural Industries Management in 2017, she has worked with the Liverpool Biennial, GOLDTAPPED, the Unmellow Collective and System Gallery whilst also maintaining her own curatorial practice organising exhibitions and events across the North-East.
Involved primarily with artist-led spaces, Bennett is concerned with alternative curatorial methods and the function of the gallery as an interactive realm. In particular, working with emerging artists to examine how we exchange, network and develop within this framework in order to negotiate how we work in modern society. She has recently founded the Curatorial Collective, which is a programme of development and support for curators outside of a university campus.
