Artspace Lifespace is a Registered Charity (No: 1168150) that recycles vacant, under-used and problem properties into thriving creative resources.
Declaration
We advocate for building reuse. Upgrading and reusing existing buildings, rather than demolishing and building new is preferred because the CO₂ emissions already embodied within existing buildings are then not lost. We see the creative potential in disused sites others see as a liability, transforming them into creative workshops, studio spaces, galleries, cafés, performance and training facilities and campaign for building reuse. In April 2019, Artspace Lifespace declared a Climate Emergency and have given priority artist residency space to performers highlighting the climate crisis.
