Declaration
I was a scientist but after many years working in the environmental sector I was frustrated by the lack of urgency within government institutions about the need for society to address the very real damage we were doing to the planet. I did an art degree to find a better way to communicate the important issues we face. As a mature student my tutors dismissed my 'political' art but I continue to make sculpture and installations engaging my community in environmental issues. Now, at last, the world is starting to listen. The institutions have failed us but through culture people can be empowered to make the change.
